Hello, my name is Aniela, Director of Music at Six Cat Studios.
I’m a violinist and violin teacher and this is my Music Lesson and Practice and Logbook. I created it for students, teachers and parents to chart their progress in instrumental and vocal learning.
Too often, we see students play through, or repeat mindlessly without truly having a goal or understanding of what is to be achieved and how it can be done.
My practice logbook is designed to allow progress to build naturally over the course of each week, by alternating scales, focusing on small sections and musical ideas, and building good habits that tackle challenges head on.
The left page details learning objectives; the right page is for reflection and open exchange between students, teachers, and parents.
Drawn from decades of practical experience in teaching students of all ages, this practice logbook keeps everyone on track all year long.

A transformational tool for music practice!
"As a musician and parent, I’ve observed firsthand how my daughter’s violin practice has been injected with purpose, structure and ownership by Aniela’s music practice log book. It is an indispensable tool that makes sure both teachers and students are optimizing the learning outcome. My daughter can no longer use forgetfulness as an excuse for a poor practice and I’ve found that by achieving the teacher’s set goals and writing her own reflections each week to have raised her engagement with the violin. *The logbook and the consistency of teaching instruction it inspires have helped achieve what I thought was impossible - an increase to her enjoyment of practice.
✅ Highly structured – No more guessing what to practice. The clear layout ensures that nothing falls through the cracks, from setup, scales and etudes, to repertoire and performance prep.
✅ Encourages Engagement – The weekly prompt for the teacher to set goals and the student to share guided reflection have been critical in helping my daughter think deeply about her progress, challenges, and goals. She’s more mindful and motivated as a result.
Highly recommend for teachers, students and parents of students
